Better Tools

Level II from what I gather from reading what is said on the day trading sites, allows you to see all of the bids and asks being put out on the NASDAQ including those of the market makers.

I haven't used it, so we need to hear from someone that has.

If you couple this service with a 2 second real time trading service then you can follow everything the market makers are doing.
Its expensive.

Some sites you might investigate.

www.abwatley.com ---- example of real time brokerage
www.tradepbs.com ---- historical stockdata for downloading

I haven't made a decision yet on which service to use for data but to invest in Novell on a short term basis, I think you would need one, given the amount of manipulation going on.

My opinion on the manipulation is that there are a lot of shares sitting dead in instiutional portfolios being loaned out for shorting purposes---a real incentive to play, and now we have the newly converted to NOVL analysts to contend with.

It makes for volatility. A suckers market indeed.
