From it:

In response to the report, Clinton attorney David Kendall said "The investigation of President Clinton from 1994 to 2001 was intense, expensive, partisan and long. There's still no Whitewater report, and there's nothing new in this report. It's time to move on."
Quite.

Oh, and 'Independent' Counsel...?
"It's not clear what the purpose of the report is other than to promote Robert Ray's Senate campaign...
and indeed,
Mr. Ray, who has acknowledged a potential run against Democratic Sen. Robert G. Torricelli of New Jersey...

Sounds pretty independent to me. I'm sure he wouldn't be remotely influenced in investigating a Democrat President... just because he's standing against a Democrat Senator... LOL.

As one of the CLinton spokesmen said:
"The release of the report is a nonevent. This investigation started as a political process and it ends as a political process."
Unless, of course, we're back to investigating and prosecuting everyone to the utmost severity of the law, whatever their 'crime'. Let me know when the Enron investigations start, no pleading the 5th or executive privilege now since an alleged crime may have been committed - and I'm sure we can find a Dem candidate to act as Independent counsel <g>

Let's face it, a multi-billion corruption/fraud/misuse of government is a tad more serious than a BJ and a lie about it.
