James: We've has some difficulties with some employee's going to WWW sites that aren't such a class act. DHCP just hinders our ability to verify the employee. We want to see a log record that looks like the following:

Joe Blow -- 110.222.393.23 - 12:30-24:00
Jim Bag -- 110.222.393.24 - 13:00-13:01
Joe Blow -- 110.222.393.30 - 01:00-02:00

You are aware that most all WWW sites store logs with IP address mappings of the incoming HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/etc requests. Some WWW sites don't turn on DNS resolution to map the IP to a hostname. This will slow the Web server down for one thing, doing all those lookups. So when a investigation takes place we look at the IP address... Also the IP addresses get stored at the firewall, again name resolution may slow that process.

What are your thoughts on pooled IP addresses "DHCP"? ... until later.
