I spoke to my friend who is a Thai trade representative here in USA. He tells me this is no big deal. According to him this PM was corrupt and had lost the support of the people in Bankok (still had rural support). Refused to step down so the Military and Police took this opportunity while he was out of the country at the UN to have a bloodless coup which my friend believes is supported by the King (the real beloved leader in Thailand). Expects a civilian government shortly. jdn
