They must heard from the same source. Who know it may be true. Lucent has to sell fiber optic division to get cash and JDSU may get it for about $4-$5B. JDS Uniphase (JDSU) 24.18 -4.35: -- Update -- Stock trading down another point after hours as market speculates that tomorrow's statement is a warning, but this is unlikely given that company is scheduled to report earnings on Thursday. More likely that company would announce a sale or acquisition, some speculate they might buy Lucent's (LU) fiber division, but JDSU is not currently in the business of fiber (they are components), and it's not clear why they would want to be.
