Moon,

Hands on with Apple's new MacBook

Interesting article about the new MacBook. Thanks for posting the link. I do think the reality distortion field still exists at Apple. From watching the show yesterday, I wanted one of the new MacBooks. From reading the review from the LA Times, I will have to try things out to see if it would be in the running for me if and when I need a new laptop.

Thinking about things this morning has me thinking about whether it was a mistake introducing the new MacBook with the new Watch, even though a lot of stuff with the watch was introduced in a previous session. The stuff with the new laptop was presented in a way that was jaw dropping and may have stolen some of the significance from the watches introduction. The watch is impressive by itself but maybe not as much as it would have been if it was discussed first or by itself.

Watching some of the coverage this morning, the talking heads I have seen have been finding any flaw they can think of in the watch and casting that as the "watch killer". I think they have raised some good points but I also think they fail to see what the watch brings together as part of the Apple ecosystem.

Also interesting will be who gets the watch sales sweepstakes right. I am encouraged by Katy Huberty's estimate. She is usually conservative and has been more right than wrong the past few years. I am hoping that she is again more right than wrong with her estimates.

One last thing that hit me last night that I forgot to include in my post last night. With all the new things that Apple introduced with the watch, I am thinking that Google and Samsung have gotten their copying machines warmed up to see what they can steal, I mean, copy from the new watch. Does MSFT get their copying machines out for a new watch, especially now that Ballmer has gone? :-)

Good luck today. The last I looked, Apple was going to open lower today.
