Not Tata! Their family business may fly in India. But the Western World has very little awareness of them and they are chicken compared to the Siemens and ABBs of Europe. Further in the free market of the world, I can't think of many products that Tata offers that are in the top five in their field. This may change if they join forces with other leaders in Europe and US, but it will take several years before they have internationally marketable products. Most multinationals look to India for inexpensive labor and talent, so that they can mark up the products and make a profit. In the information technology and software field India has a good reputation for providing good talent. That is why INFY was well received in Wall Street last week, since it is service oriented.
