Sun Microsystems of Canada Names InfoCast as an Elite Service Provider in its ServiceProvider.com Initiative

MARKHAM, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 1, 2000--

e-Enabling ASP Delivers Expanding Suite of Business

Solutions on the Sun (TM) Platform

Sun Microsystems of Canada Inc. and InfoCast Corporation (OTC BB: IFCC), a premier e-Enabling Application Service Provider (ASP), today announced an agreement to advance InfoCast to Elite Service Provider status in Sun's ServiceProvider.com initiative. Elite is the highest level of recognition currently obtainable in the program in Canada.

"Achieving Elite status shows our commitment to providing exceptional performance and quality of service to our clients," says Jim Leech, InfoCast's president and CEO. "In today's market it seems everyone is jumping onto the ASP playing field. Now customers who choose to work with us are guaranteed a standard of care that is leading the industry."

As an e-Enabling ASP, InfoCast specializes in developing and hosting Internet-based business applications for both emerging "dot.com" companies and established enterprises looking to effectively use the Internet. The foundation of the company's offering is the i-Hub system, a networked infrastructure of Sun Enterprise(TM) servers running the robust Solaris(TM) Operating Environment. This powerful structure ensures that InfoCast clients have a reliable, scalable and secure server environment to support the online portion of their business.

"The SP market represents tremendous opportunity," noted Everett Anstey, president, chairman and CEO of Sun Microsystems of Canada Inc. "New business practices are emerging as organizations like InfoCast bring to market high-availability services and applications that enterprises need to succeed in today's Net Economy. Enterprises require companies of InfoCast's calibre to leverage and manage technology to support growth. That's where Sun technology and our vision of the service driven network play a prominent role. We're impressed by InfoCast's successes to date and look forward to working closely with them on joint sales and marketing activities in the future."

Under Sun's Service Provider Development Fund, InfoCast will also receive a percentage of its net purchase of Sun products to use toward marketing initiatives, technology training, and other services.
