Over 20 days an no one champions MMX!

It's been over 20 days since the last post on this thread, and no one has stepped in to say anything nice about MMX.

In the mean time, I stumbled upon some official bad press about MMX.

geocities.com:80/WallStreet/7744/klamath.html

"In Q1 97, it was a combination of Office97, MMX & Pentium II. Uh huh, sure. That's why preliminary indications show that Office97 sales are sluggish enough to motivate Microsoft to offer "incentives" for people to buy them; as the previously reported "promotional deal" with Kingston for 32MB of DRAM for $199. Not to mention the fact
that the Office97 sales are sluggish enough for retailers to replace it on the header spaces with MacOS 7.6. Uh, sure guys. Office97 is flying off the shelves.

MMX? Uh huh. Sure. Right. Even PC Week and The Wall Street Journal basically told people to "pass" on MMX right now and go for a "price slashed Pentium". With ringing endorsements like that, who needs "pans"? And the aforementioned January Global Billings Report showed that chip sales declined in January, although the Semi Bulls had
a quick answer even though they had been telling the markets that chip orders would be increasing because of the "huge demand for MMX chips". Whoops! "
