Nope, doesn't bother me. I'll tell you why. A person with a gun near my kids - I consider a FAR GREATER THREAT. Why? Because I don't know the mindset of the person with the gun, and guns can be used to kill indiscriminately if their user is uncaring.
Drugs? Boring and not scary in any way. Ever go to a rock concert? I've been to alot. I wouldn't bring my kids, but not because of the drugs - primarily because of the noise and crowding. Yet I never feel threatened at a concert DESPITE the heavy APPARENT drug use.
I took my son to a basketball game recently (he's 4) and a drunk was bothering my section and annoying my son. Would it have mattered if he was high on crack, pot or heroin? Nope. Alcohol is equally impairing as those drugs. Yet we allow people to drink in front of kids all the time. You have yet to explain to me how alcohol or cigarettes are less dangerous.

I suspect that you are caught in a tautology. The fact that cigarettes and alcohol are legal is what makes them okay. Sorry, I don't buy that. I have yet to meet a medical practitioner who is able to point out the inherent traits of illegal drugs which sets them apart from cigarettes and alcohol, making them more dangerous.
Maybe you can do that. If so, please enlighten all of us.
