[BA/CSCO/USRX chat]

Pat,
>I'm surprised he hasn't gone with both CAP and DMT, but perhaps by using Westell, he will --- after all, Westell has said it'll use CG.<

Did you know that BA helped to develop the CAP code? That is one of the reasons you will not see DMT in BA territory.

>What's your take on USRX? Think they'll find a winning strategy before they lose so much time they can't catch up?<

USRX is a slight enigma. They will certainly have great pricing on ATU-Rs, but I doubt they will get any of the ATU-C market. I do not think they are in any trials. Another USRX issue is that they do not really have a telco model. They are great at selling consumer modems, but selling into a telco channel is another feat entirely. You had better be positioned very well with the CTO.

Vendors are starting to come to the party, not knowing the party broke up an hour ago with the host already out the door. The telco piece of pie is going to shrink fast.

CSCO will announce something when they are ready and perceive the market to be ready for the technology. I am an ardent believer that they will acquire a DMT vendor. CSCO won't stay out of this much longer. They cannot afford too.

Out for the rest of the evening, take care.

Mike
