I was chit-chatting with someone's receptionist yesterday - she told me that after she broke up with her husband, her credit was screwed up, and she got a letter from an outfit in Phoenix that offered her a credit card for people with bad credit. Unbeknownst to her, they charge a $1000 annual fee!!!!! She didn't read the fine print, obviously. Not only that, but they went belly-up three months later, so the card wasn't any more good, but they are still trying to collect the $1000. How's that for audacity?
