I've heard this rumor as well and it brings thoughts in my head whether INTC thinks it bought the wrong company.

Food for thought, ML IC analyst on the INTC-LEVL deal (with a BRCM reference):

Joe Osha, who tracks both Intel and Broadcom for Merrill Lynch, tells me that he thinks this combination could prove to Broadcom's advantage. "Level One wants to do that kind of integration as well, but it's going to be harder for them; Broadcom is better positioned because they've focused on digital signal processing for their transceivers from day one."

And when one talks about DSP's, one thinks of TXN. Like I said in the last post, TI has done several deals in the past few weeks capitalizing on their DSP strength. It makes one wonder.

Any thoughts?
