We are not really talking about a strong dollar. Just a less weak dollar. But that could include a strong rally for awhile before the long-term bear resumes.

Kerry would probably move to cut the federal deficit via tax hikes on upper income groups and more aggressive enforcement of the tax laws by the IRS. He probably would encourage Greenspan (under the table of course) to be more aggressive in hiking short-term rates.

Best to take the bitter medicine of higher taxes and tighter money early in a Kerry term.
