Consumer Confidence : The March rebound in the Conference Board confidence number was clearly an aberration, as April saw renewed declines and the Univ of Michigan survey never showed any significant rebound. With layoffs accelerating, confidence, income, and spending are likely to fall, justifying the Fed's recent rate cut and more cuts in the future.
