"I need to consider buying Nortel".
do you like it better than csco and lu?

I do now (as of last week). I am still upset that i did not buy calls on Nortel last week as the upcoming event was known mid last week.Did you see those new Nortel commercials. I know advertising is not everthing but it sure helps. Those ads with the Beatles song " come together" are very catchy. Reminds me of the Windows95 promotion using the Rolling Stones song "start me up". These tv commercials are awesome, unlike the boring ones they had in the past. In addition, they do have good products to back up the publicity.

Recently, I read a story the AT&T is considering buying some Nortel telephone equipment. Remember At&T is really a Lucent shop(lucent is a spin-off). That AT&T contract is believed to be a done deal experts believe and would be a huge contract. You gotta dig up that story.
I had read that Nortel on a PE basis it is a lot cheaper than Lucent and Cisco.

I don't know how it will compare to Cisco overall--as they appear to be a slightly different animal. Therefore, I am planning to hold both Nortel and Cisco.

Furthermore, for me it is better to hold Nortel as it is Canadian based. I don't face foreign content penalties in my retirement account by holding it. I am also looking to add BCE, which owns 49 percent of Nortel. BCE also trades in the US market.

I did buy some Nortel today.
