U.S. vsl entered Iranian waters? I'll bet the Iranians are claiming the vsl got to close to Abu MUSA

The Arabian Gulf has restricted deep water channels. For deep draft vsl's the only deep water is outside of 3 mile limit but within 12 miles of Abu Musa. Abu Musa is an Iranian Island in the middle of the Gulf. In the 1980's, Iran said that any vsl entering within 12 miles if ABU MUSA is violating Iranian territory. Until the mid '80's 3 miles had been the Iranian claim of sovereignty.

But, guess what. Any deep draft tanker must get closer than 12 miles of Abu Musa.

A tanker could short load of course.
