Compaq,DoCoMo plan corporate online i-mode service
TOKYO, July 4 (Reuters) - A Japanese unit of Compaq Computer Corp (NYSE:CPQ - news) said on Tuesday it would tie up with NTT DoCoMo Inc to launch a service for corporate customers using DoCoMo's i-mode mobile Internet access service.

A spokesman for Compaq Computer KK said the alliance, which will include unlisted Japanese software developer DreamArt Corp, will use Compaq servers and DreamArt software to offer i-mode-based services.

Further details on the tie-up will be released at a news conference on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. (0600 GMT), Compaq said.

DoCoMo, Japan's dominant cellular phone carrier, had 8.44 million subscribers to its Internet-access i-mode service as of July 3.

DoCoMo's shares ended the morning session up 1.02 percent at 2.96 million yen.
