EFCR news release out..

EGPI Firecreek Inc. with Sahara Group First into Ukraine Under New Government Change
Wednesday August 17, 3:16 pm ET
Confirms Establishment of Joint Working Relationship with 'NAFTOGAZ'

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 2005--EGPI Firecreek Inc. (OTCBB: EFCR - News) The Sahara Group Chairman Dr. Rusbek Bisultanov and EGPI Firecreek Inc. Chairman Dennis Alexander jointly announced today the receipt of the official letter from the Ukraine National Oil and Gas Co. NAFTOGAZ confirming the establishment of the joint working relationship between the NAFTOGAZ two companies. Firecreek Petroleum Inc., the operating partner for the Sahara Group, will be the operator for the venture. This is the first of such relationships established under the new government.

The invitation confirmed the meeting in the NAFTOGAZ offices in Kiev on Aug. 18 and 19 to work out a production-sharing agreement covering the rehabilitation and development of oil and gas fields in Ukraine and other exploration areas of mutual interest. The Sahara Group and Firecreek Petroleum team traveling to Kiev will consist of Dr. Rusbek Bisultanov; John R. Taylor, president of Firecreek; William E. Merritt, executive vice president and general counsel; M. Grace Sutherin, manager special projects; and Timur Bisultanov, special assistant.

This new development results from the prior announced protocol signed by Dr. Bisultanov with officials of the Ukraine government to assist in the development of an energy independence program. As formerly noted, Sahara is part of a committee that will study and recommend changes and improvements in Ukraine's oil and gas industry as well as work in country rehabilitating and developing fields through its partner EGPI Firecreek Inc.

EGPI Firecreek Inc., through its Firecreek unit, is focused on oil production with an emphasis on acquiring existing oil fields with proven reserves, the rehabilitation of potentially high throughput oilfields, resource properties and inventories on an international basis.
