Arthur, IMO Bradlees was in a different league than Ames, I owned them a few years ago and visited a few stores. Bradlees was a step or two up in quality than Target and Walmart. Ames will have enough trouble servicing its debt than even beginning to consider assuming any Bradlees locations. It's a good thing for Ames that interest rates may soon be coming down, Ames may survive. They are on the edge of failure, but that's already in the price. I think the PR release was code that Ames will survive and is strong enough by taking returns from Bradlees. The goodwill is also useful. I have been buying AMES over the last few trading days and expect some strength in AMES stock in January. There could even be a strong short covering rally on any good news.
