Global warming causes hurricane shortage
from Don Surber by DonSurber
In May, the Department of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University forecast an above-normal year for hurricanes for 2006. Instead of the normal 11 named storms, expect 17 and instead of the usual 29 days of hurricane storms, expect 45.

The forecasters went out of their way to say, “No credible observational evidence is currently available that directly associates global surface temperature change with changes in global hurricane frequency and intensity.”

But this did not stop the propagandists from preaching the gospel of global warming. A connection that scientist go out of their way not to make, Al Gore makes. As do other libs. The Houston Chronicle reminded us last month what Jesse Jackson told Katrina victims last year: “Global warming is no longer academic, global warming is real.”

Except for the part where global warming has nothing to do with hurricanes. How will Jackson or Gore explain the latest forecast of a below-normal hurricane season?

I know: Global warming causes a shortage of hurricanes.

When it comes to meteorology, we still know less than what we don’t know. Worry about global cooling, which kills off life, rather than global warming, which seems to generate more life.
