To Ann & All
I hope you had great Friday and enjoyed the rebound! Most my stocks did well with the exception of a few!!!!!
I think there is a time where we have to re-think our investment strategy! There is no reason to be ashamed for such change, it is the sign of inteligence to change direction when the road we are on leads to nowhere!
With all due respect for our friend Frank, I think the name of the thread; Intel Strategy for Achieving Wealth, can be confusing to some of the thread subscribers! gg It can send the wrong message!
I think there are other stocks and companies with which one can achieve great wealth! Take SGP, KO, Cat, Pfe, Mrk, Pg, Cl, Ba, the list is endless!!
All these companies over the long span of time have created wealth! Yet, we are stuck with INTC, MSFT, Csco, etc!!! Lets look at INTC!
There are some of us on this thread that are long term investors! We are lucky enough not to need the money, so we buy and hold! So, far it has paid of, but...
1. There are investors who can't buy and hod forever! There long term means 2 years, while mine or Frank ort Sonny could means 10, 15 or 20!! Therefore the "long term" is relative!
2. There are investors that buy to make a quick buck, by selling in 24 hours or three months!
I think most investors fall in the above two catagory! These investors are in troulbe! INTC is where it was last year! Maybe it will double before the end of the 1998 (I wish it, but I will not bet on it!!) or maybe it will stay where it is now! The jump, whenever it comes, maybe too late for some people!
So, pls. do not think INTC, or high tech is the ONLY way to achieving wealth! There are great stocks, all blue chips, in consumer sector that may not make you wealthy, but will certainly make your retirment comforatble. Such stocks reduces the risk of seeing your investments get cut by half every three months when Kurlak and other members of his herd downgrade INTC,
Few days ago when Dell was going-up everybody was jumping on Dell's bandwaggon hopeing to make a quick kill!
By the way the above stocks were mentioned in one of my posts in Dec. of 1997 as great performers for 1998! Check and see how they have out performed out hi.techs! They will continue to run through the 1998 and 1999, as the grouth for now is slowing down!
Good luck,
