Robert, True story....... About 8 years ago I'm in Chicago for the Annual review of my grandfather's trust acct. You know....Grandpa ET. AL. So this conference room has more mahogony than I've ever seen....I'm looking at the table.....Trust administrator goes blah..blah...blah...State of the world...Interest rates....We're nodding and blinking. Stock review....GE,Coke, AHP, GM,IBM..Blah...Blah...My sister's asleep. Anyhow.....A new guy comes in to talk "buy" recomemdations. (acct. had some cash) He is a Tech guy...Hands out a bunch of stuff. Says tech thing is real...Computers in every home.....blah...blah. He has two recomendations......Intel and Microsoft. First peep out us......Why these particular stocks. Answer: We like to go with the market leaders in their respective fields. Done....Signed the request....It's still there. bg ps. The Northern Trust bought up all of the lake-front property after the Chicago Fire......didn't they?
