Modern records signs on new general manager Modern Records Inc MZR Shares issued 27,454,114 Jan 15 close $0.14 Tue 16 Jan 2001 News Release Mr. Johan Grandin reports Modern Records reports that Mr. A. Grant Allan, has joined the company as general manager. Mr. Allan brings with him over 30 years of venture capital experience including, company start up and turn around, through which he has been involved in raising, managing and investing over $600-Million (U.S.) in the entertainment industry. Mr. Allan has extensive entertainment industry background. He began his career in the entertainment industry as director of advertising and public relations for CBS musical instruments (Fender Guitars, Rogers Drums, Fender/Rhodes Pianos). Grant Allan was also one of three key management executives who built Cochrane Chase and Co., one of Southern California's largest independent advertising, marketing, research and public relations agencies. Mr. Allan later founded the Beacon Group. As president and chief executive officer, he led a team of people who raised, invested and successfully managed a $200-Million (U.S.) motion picture investment fund that invested funds in such movies as Terminator II, Total Recall (starring Arnold Swartzenegger), as well as LA Story staring Steve Martin. The fund also invested in television series such as The X-Files and The Commish. Mr. Allan continues his involvement with the Beacon Group as chairman of the board. Mr. Allan will relocate to Los Angeles as a full-time consultant, he will take control of the day-to-day operations of Modern Records in the company's important transition phase.
