"National media following Chretien were already back on the campaign bus when they were told Chretien was returning to the banquet hall filled with about 1,000 Liberals." I SHOULD SAY that Chretien would return to the hall. He probably couldn't believe he had 1000 supporters, and wanted to go back and see again for himself, just for the memories... They must have let all the government employees go home early that day so they could all get to the meeting hall. Or maybe they bussed them in from Summerside, PEI, where our national GST-processing headquarters is situated. Wasn't there a prediction that a big tsunami was supposed to wipe out PEI in 2000?
