<<Does your specialist know when the $25.00 USB-serial connector will be available for iMAC as you mentioned in message 17234?>>

Sorry Rishi,
That "specialist" was just trying to make a sale and was by no means a Mac expert. I took his remark to loosely mean that "there might a USB-AppleTalk converter, sub $50, by Jan. 99." A quick scan of the major Mac catalog web sites confirms your comments- NADA, Niente, Nyet, Nulla, Nothing!

I solved my printing problem by trading my boss my Centris 650-4/80 for a C650-8/230 w/ ethernet, since we just donate the old machines anyway. Then I made an ethernet cross cable and connected the iMac to the C650, without a hub. Finally, added Apples Lasewrwriter Bridge control panel to the Centris and, voila, we can print directly from the iMac to the Laserwriter Plus (connected to the Centris). And it's a lot faster then printing from the Centris ever was! now color printing is a different story- the short version-get my wife's boss to upgrade her piece of junk Canon Bubblejet fax/printer to an ethernet enabled, Mac accessible version. Does anyone recommend such a beast?
