The Dr. has made it public...NOVL + JAVA = $$$$
Not good. Not good at all. I was talking to a Dr. counterpart...a professor of Computer Science at the University of Toronto just last night (Prof. S. Ghalli) on the subject of JAVA and the outlook of its future. His comment: "It remains to be seen if the language becomes a standard but it is too soon to comment at the moment. One needs to keep an eye on Microsoft which is not going to make the process of acceptance easy".
NOVL is still in this to outbeat rival MSFT. I don't blame them but is this CEO the right person to lead the attack ? In my opinion, NO !! It is to soon to bet on JAVA with the mess NOVL is in. We need Gestner at the helm, not this lowly human being from Silicon valley. His attack is going to cost us shareholders tons of $$$ just as it has done for Corel shareholders. NOVL does not have the might to strike giant MSFT. Leave that to IBM or better the DOJ.
I am relaying my message once agaion to NOVELL executives:
VK: HELLO NOVELL, HELLO !!! This is Earth. It is the year 1997. Do you acknowledge ? HELLO !!
NOVL: "We are one of the largest software companies in the world. Size does matter, but with our resellers and other partners we are a huge, huge operation. I do not see the need for big partners, but I do see the need to seek out smaller partners to drive the business on,"
VK: HELLO NOVELL, HELLO !! Please repeat !!
NOVL:NOVL: "We are one of the largest software companies in the world. Size does matter, but with our resellers and other partners we are a huge, huge operation. I do not see the need for big partners, but I do see the need to seek out smaller partners to drive the business on,"
V.K: Bulls**t !! Did you acknowledge ?

V.K: Please repeat that Bulls**t statement.
NOVL:"My primary focus is on strategy and marketing, getting the next generation of our products out. That will make our shareholders very happy,"
V.K: Houston, we have a problem. |
