Hi, Gary-- I'm about ready to throw in the towel on the downloader problem. I installed just about every Windows95 update patch available at the ms sites, and I still cannot download the q+2 files automatically. The program refuses to recognize the id/pw. Interestingly, after installing all of the patches from ms, only one .dll file date was changed from the previous versions already on my system. This was comctl32.dll for which the date changed to 5/19/97. Naturally, this made no difference at all to the downloader problem. From the lists that you and Bob Sage posted, I really expected to find the problem in one or more of the ole****.dll files. However, the only patch that I was able to find was the ole update "oleupd.exe" at 507KB and dated 8/27/97. However, after applying this patch, none of the ole files in my system were changed.
So, where do we go from here? You and Bob clearly have some .dll files which are more recent than those in my system and in Rob Kipp's, but the versions you have do not seem to be available from the ms site. The files in my system which differ from your list are: wininet.dll; olepro32.dll; advapi32.dll; oleaut32.dll; and ole32.dll (although Bob apparently has an earlier version of this file than mine). The other file that has a different date is wsock32.dll, and in this case, both Rob and I have later versions of this file than you and Bob!!!
What now, boss?
