Travis,
we've had excellent results with ScottTrade. Nothing fancy, just the basics -- and it just works. I use their non-graphical site, as it is much faster over my 14.4 modem, but they have another with all the pretty pictures for those that want it.

Main advantage is that they have one of their offices 10 mins down the hiway from us, so service has been excellent for us, but haven't needed much. Have only had to call for internet-related problems, never anything about their trades, which have always been right. Paperwork has been pristine and is in the mail that day, usually here in 2-3. If the local guy doesn't pick up right away, the call bounces to a central number so you can get on with things. Trades are $7, more for limits, etc.

BTW, started out with E-Trade 2 years ago, but quickly found their back office was abyssmal. No way of finding out where you stood for paper transactions. We'd send them a check, and it was days before they knew they had it, and they simply couldn't track it until it showed up like magic on their screens. After 3 episodes, I took my money elsewhere; no way I would go back. SI has an E-Trade thread or two, I believe.
