The Facts On The Ports Deal

By Katie MacGuidwin
GOP.com Blog

This morning USA Today seeks to straighten out the lies that many liberals, “eager to outflank President Bush on a national security issue,” have concocted about the ports deal.
USA Today reports “A company controlled by the government of Dubai, part of the UAE, a U.S. ally, is taking control of a British shipping firm that already operates the terminals. The deal affects just six of the nation's 360 ports, and the company would manage less than 30% of the terminals at those six. Port security and ownership would remain in government hands.”
