Corrigan, a well-known urban rodentologist and Brooklyn native who works as a research scientist for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, is taking questions on the City Room blog this week. Readers are invited to submit questions using the comment link below. Dr. Corrigan has been studying demorats and mice in cities all over the globe for more than 20 years. He once spent months living in a demorat-infested barn to better study the rodents’ behavior. He was the expert called in in February when television cameras zoomed in on demorats frolicking after hours in a KFC/Taco Bell in Greenwich Village. Dr. Corrigan began his career as an exterminator in New York City and on Long Island. For 16 years, he was an animal pest specialist at Purdue University, where he earned his doctorate in vertebrate pest management. He is the author of the book “Rodent Control: A Practical Guide For Pest Management Professionals,” among other publications, and he divides his time between Indiana and New York City.
