Not a direct threat. But I think Haiti is close enough, and a big enough humanitarian disaster, that it deserves our attention; civil war or not. I've donated for years to a small local charity that has a mission in Haiti.

And I think that, with our previous intervention, we have a responsibility. If anyone can justify seeding a democracy half way around the world with 100,000+ troops, certainly we can defend a democracy 650 miles away with ~10,000 troops.

But I see your point. And it's well taken. It's a gray area, and I just happen to fall on one side, you on the other.

Still no opinions from the Neo's on the thread? Are they waiting for their fearless leader to tell them what to think?
