I wonder about Teledesic, too. It is a grand vision. I was a heavy investor in Nextel (another McCaw company) until several months ago, when I sold most of my long positions and started building short positions in Internet and other companies.

I believe Teledesic will fly. There's some smart money in it already. This problem with Iridium is not a surprise - Iridium is the trailblazer for this type of service.

What are the Andes like? Any lamas in sight? In january, was there snow at altitude?
