Rush to Judgement (a poem)

Mimi Winship
The American Thinker

My knee jerked faster than anyone’s did

When I first contemplated what dangers hid

In the possibility that the UAE

Would get a foothold in ports that we

Must hold secure from a terrorist threat,

But as I step back, I think I regret

My thoughtless judgment, my hasty conclusion.

I may have been under a faulty illusion.

Schumer and Clinton and even DeLay

Are not the beginning and end of my day.

I’ll listen to what others have to say

And make up my mind in a rational way.

Whom do I trust? What might I have missed?

Bush, Franks and Rumsfeld are high on my list

Of those I admire, from whom seek advice,

And then there are Cheney and Condi Rice.

I don’t have an answer, but guided I’ll be

By careful analysis, and then we’ll see.
