Yes we can. Korea was a tie. Vietnam a loss. Iraq a mess. Maybe the lesson is that in the third world assymetric power means they can use endless manpower, terror tactics etc and we cant use the big guns because of collateral damage. In WW2 we would have firebombed bagdad like we did tokyo and destroy anyone who even resemebled a combatant. Today we cant do that, and thats good but its also an impediment to winning these things.
