12:20 ET Credit card co's to benefit from new bankruptcy law : Credit card co's have been relatively strong this morning after the House and Senate reached a compromise last night on bankruptcy reform legislation that has been stalled for nearly 5 years; the legislation seeks to prevent people from abusing the bankruptcy system by providing a means test to assess whether borrowers are capable of repayment; according to Bear Stearns in a morning note, the co's that should see the biggest positive EPS impact are: PVN, MXT, and CCRT, and to a lesser extent COF, KRB, AXP, HI, WFSI, and ACF.

Well, there goes that great idea for maxing out and then thumbing your nose, now you'll have to max out and disappear until they write it off first before coming back
