I am impressed. I play 3-4 times a week, for 1-3 hours, with the longer timeframes being doubles and the shorter being singles and lessons!

I have a boomer serve which is easy to return if you line it up right, a wickedly short slice serve with which I can hit both corners of the service box, and a developing combo. It is funny - the very best players have trouble with the boomer while the medium good and below have problem with the spin serve.

My groundstrokes are falling apart, though. I have a big forehand with all that that implies - lots of winners and lots of errors, and as a game evolves I start to slice and push to try and cut down errors, but creating new errors.

I have only slice on the backhand these days.

I too am glad to be free of the chronic pain of the past two and a half years! My weight is 15 pounds too high (probably 20-25 but being realistic) but I feel pretty fit and am moving quicker to drop shots and lobs. I feel very strong and with the increased exercise, a chronic cold I have been fighting since the operation in October is finally leaving me alone - coming back a bit today after 4 beers from 10 to midnight post tennis!

All the best.

Jon
