Yes, but the common wisdom is that it's more difficult to be elected if you come from congress. There are years and years of 100's of votes that can be brought up by the opposition. Many won't be understood out of the context of the timeframe, or things attached to the bills. This is pretty established political dogma, and has been commented on by the Rep strategists.

By the way, he certainly wasn't under attack for at least the year after 9/11, he was given more of a free pass than any other President. To criticize was to be unpatriotic. It looks that's finally worn off, thank God.

No, you were implying that Kerry got off easy on the alleged affair compared with Bush on his AWOL thing. If the press can find anything to stick these guys with, they will do. Priority one is to sell papers.
