Quantum in Wrong Sizes....

Let's not forget Western Digital or Maxtor either. They seem to be the ones pushing the EIDE format, and currently own the largest, which is 3.1 GB, I think. My understanding is that Quantum just got a 2 GB drive, which is the Bigfoot. Seagate/Conner and Western Digital have had one for a long time. Moreover, the Quantum drive is in the 5.25" (but very thin) format and spins at only 3600 rpm, versus 3.5" LP at 5400 or 5200 rpm for Seagate and Western Digital, respectively. My opinion is that the Bigfoot unless upgraded is going to relegate Quantum to the status of second-tier supplier, as there is too much benchmark competition in the Ziff publications. I bet Quantum is slipping in market share and, thus, their comments are biased and designed to cover their own underperformance.
