Good question. I think that Fox in that clip implied that a) this is how he "usually" feels, and b) the stem cell research in question would resolve his suffering.

I think there's something to the latter part of that. No one knows whether it will be productive or not. I don't think the ads, at least the ones that I've seen from the Maryland race, may not couch that as much as they could.

I don't buy the former. Folks who don't know that these symptoms, like many diseases, ebb and flow might infer it but I don't see how he could have addressed that ignorance in the ads. He didn't speak about his symptoms, merely exhibited them. There's only so much you can do to address background ignorance in a short ad. There are lots of things the ad doesn't say. Besides, I don't see it matters whether he's that bad all the time or just some of the time. It's horrid either way.

Edit: I retract my first comment. I just watched the Missouri add that LB posted and he is quite clear that he's only talking about the "hope" of a cure.
