Hello all,

An off topic question if I may. I suspect there are a number of advanced excel users here.

Say I'm in column B with the letter A and B randomly placed in cells B3 thru B12 (for 10 random A's and B's) Further, there's 7 A's and 3 B's.

Now, I want to create a formula in cell B13 that scans B3:B12 and counts the A's and gives the sum, which in this case would be 7.

I've read the help section and tried my hand at the sumif etc but to no avail.

Thanks and take care.

Eric
