New Subject - education costs

While the media continues to carp about the minimum wage not being raised for 10 years and increasing health care costs, nary a word is mentioned about the unabated spiralling costs of a college education.

In my state, Iowa, it's almost an annual foregone conclusion that tuition costs will go up every year. Apparently, no one dares question the state board of regents on why or demand a financial audit of revenues and expenses.

From a cost to benefit point of view, I really don't see any merit to these cost increases. My daughter graduated last May and my son is a senior. To be brutally honest, they don't seem to me to be much smarter or better educated than when they graduated from high school. That's a lot of money for that sheepskin ticket to be punched.
