This topic would be better discussed over on the Kosovo discussion board; however, I think that Baldur is making a comment about the advantages of free trade and sound economic principles over bombing for the purpose of securing peace.

My position on the subject is that the Albanian refugees need all the help anybody can give them, there are hundreds of thousands of innocents suffering in this conflict. But just for the record here, I don't feel supportive for NATO's recent actions in the the former republic of Yugoslavia, and I am led to believe that much was left undone in terms of negotiation. Also, the way that NATO decided to engage bombing against a sovereign nation over an internal dispute was without precedent and in defiance of international laws. I think this has set the stage for terrorists to justify their actions over causes they might feel morally warranted for in the future. I also think that Russia is mostly sweating crocodile tears over Yugoslavia right now, because though they consider themselves Slavic cousins, they also have many misgivings for each other: but one thing is for sure, the Russians certainly do not trust NATO and any hope of a strong economic future between Russia and the West will depend upon NATO becoming less aggressive.
