Reports in Mexican newspapers I follow say the Oaxaca incident is de-fused.

Fox won't let the new Prez inherit the crisis, so the speculation was that he issued ultimata backed up by the arrival of a couple of plane loads of very tough hombres yesterday. The protesters allegedly gave up, though Mark in Mexico suggests that they've gone off to the University. Please note that in Mexico, universities occupy a very special place. Traditionally, and perhaps even legally, no law enforcement of any kind is allowed on a university campus. If the protesters are going on-campus, it is because they're afraid, very afraid.....they're seeking sanctuary as the ultimatum may have them spooked.

That's the scuttlebutt, but Mexican media is as honest and reliable as the North Korean...well, not that bad.
