I believe Florida has passed legislation exempting the state from any
Y2K lawsuits. If memory serves me correctly, they said something like
they had spent $50mm over the last 10 years or so trying to get a fix
in place for state systems. Based on what they have accomplished and
on what they know they have left to do -- and on their rate of progress --
they basically said, "We've given it our best shot, there's going to be
problems with state activities, but you can't sue us for them."

Maybe the experts on the radio show should get ahold of the state and tell
them they just need to upgrade.
