But Microsoft is giving the consumers what they want, the last thing their business model needs is other people developing apps at random; it would upset the "incrementalism" that we all love so much! No, it is much better that I learn to pay $50 to kids hanging around CompUSA for installing an $80 OS. Seems like paying $130 for a Windows95 upgrade is the real Cost of Ownership nowadays. Manuals extra of course.
