Oral, Bush has been accused of favoritism over many appointments and decisions. With Meir's age, she will not serve for very long, and satisfies some of his critics with very little danger to the conservative agenda.

One thing we should always remember, is that quite a few people have been selected for the Supreme Court, and have turned out to be complete duds, and some even dangerous to the health of the nation. As an attorney, she has had experience with many different judges, which gives her a wider scope of vision than some one has who has sat on his ass, and ruled a court, with the same biases for many years. That person has a one track mind, and an accomplished lawyer has had more experience in the many concepts that appear in the court room.

None of us know a lot about Meir, but I doubt that she can ever cause a lot of trouble either, as so many before her have done.
