israel to take control of the Suez Canal Israel was a "Front" in the deal so that the British/French could move in and take control. Israel would have ended up with the Sinai. It would have been a good deal all around and ended the influence of Russia in the area, with the Egyptian Government probably changing. Dulles and Ike were both anti-Semites and this had a major influence on the decision.
