Aus,

The main thing I took from the CC was that sales through retailers were as expected, or better. But the OEM business hit a brick wall, off 20% sequentially. With the 2-3 month lead time in wafers, this created an inventory problem. they had projected strong OEM sales. And they are saying the OEM's themselves have an inventory problem, but that the retailers have empty shelves.

Units were actually down 19% sequentially - but asp's up in 4Q. Driven by higher density, 32 MB and 64 MB were the sweet spot of retail.

It's very difficult to put these numbers together.

Is at least a part of the OEM problem related to fears of an economic slowdown, and the OEM's saying we ain't buying nothin', we got our own earnings to report? All reports we got were that digi cameras were selling with the best product categories.

I still just don't get it.

John
