'CIVIL WAR' AT HOME

Arnold Ahlert
NEW YORK POST

IF the American Left is searching for "civil war," Iraq is the wrong place to look. The mirror would be better.

Even as they condescendingly belittle Iraq's struggles to form a united government after three decades of totalitarian rule, American Leftists apparently miss the fact that their own obstructionism, their own relentless negativity, and their own desire to see Iraq fail has made our efforts there far more difficult. Imagine what it must be like for Iraqis to risk life and limb to re-build their country, only to see U.S. politicians and pundits demand we abandon them to terrorist thugs.

The Left's entire agenda consists of undermining a wartime president - no matter what the damage to our security and resolve. At least Iraqis are trying to avoid civil war. What's the American Left's excuse?
